Annual Peace Summit with Regents University London
The Tutu Foundation UK has established an Annual Peace Summit with our long term partner Regents University London.
Each year we focus on an area of our work to help individuals and communities overcome or prevent conflict and the enormous challenges they face trying to do that.
In 2015 the Peace Summit focussed on youth and brought together young people from a diverse range of schools and young people who had been involved with and trained with some of the Tutu Foundation’s programmes.
The Peace Summit in 2016 focused on mediation in the international context. We had speakers with experience from Northern Ireland, Bosnia and South Africa. The event drew in an audience of over 100 to hear experts in international relations, human rights, policing, terrorism, psychology, mediation and journalism covering topics such as policing conflict, the psychology of conflict, and the process of mediation. A day of informed and candid reflections, as well as challenging and thoughtful questions
We are working with Regents University London on plans for the 2017 Tutu Peace Summit
